Do you really need to write a check? They've come in handy for years, but these days there just aren't many places that you still need to write a check to. Alternatives are safer, easier, greener, and cheaper.

Let's see why you should strive to never write a check again.

  • When you bank online, you're on top of things every time you log in. All the information you need about outstanding checks and account history is right in front of you. You can even have the account information you select sent to your mobile phone through e-Alerts for up to the minute history. Sign up now for Home Banking, Bill-Pay and e-Alerts.
If you have any problems, we're here to help at 510-690-6100.

  • Carrying a checkbook means extra bulk and extra risk. If your checkbook is lost, you'll have to notify the Credit Union and then keep a sharp eye out for fraud and identity theft! You'll need to change your checking account number and reorder checks. Your debit card will access the same funds from your checking account, but take up less space. It's accepted pretty much everywhere these days, and you probably carry it with you anyway. You'll also save time at the check-out counter.
