Plastic Card Data Breach

You may have noticed there seems to be one data breach after another at places you frequently shop.  It’s great to know that Bay Cities has always been hard at work protecting your privacy as well as your account.  If you have questions we have answers.

What is Bay Cities doing to protect me?

As soon as Bay Cities was notified by VISA U.S.A. that information from some of our members’ VISA Debit and Credit Cards may have been compromised we ordered new cards and PINs.  Those who could have been affected have already been notified and will receive their card in 5 to 10 business days of the notification.  Their old card is deactivated soon after.

What can I do to protect my account?

Although we are being proactive for the security of our members, we do ask that you please monitor your account closely to ensure that all transactions have been authorized by you.  Notify us immediately if you discover any fraudulent transactions made to your account.

How can I help safe guard my information?

We recommend that you don’t reply to phone, emails, or texts that request personal information.  Bay Cities will never contact you and ask for an account number, PIN, or any other confidential information.  Bay Cities will only attempt to collect confidential information to verify your identity if you contact us.

If you have questions or concerns about your account or what Bay Cities is doing to protect you call us at (510) 690-6100 or email us at info@baycities.org
